Below are the comments from current and past parents.
Both of our children have been at The Green Day Nursery from babies to preschool. There are lots of elements they’ve enjoyed such as the relationships they’ve development with their key workers, who know them well and care for them. They have both made friendships that have lasted since finishing nursery, it’s lovely to carry on these relationships. The nursery has prepared them so well for school and life experiences such as visiting the Fire Station, going out in the local area and having the nursery pets to teach them about the wider world. They have also always been happy to come to nursery.
Fun, care and Friendships
All my 3 boys attend The Green Day Nursery, they have been a fundamental part of our family for the last 2 years. We love all the extra things the nursery does, like special events at Christmas, home-made trinkets (gifts) from the children and introducing the children to different animals. My son absolutely loves the Nursery rabbit, Nugget! All the staff are so lovely, caring and helpful. Our boys are very happy here.
Our daughter has had a wonderful experience at the Green Day Nursery. The mixture of creative, outdoor, educational and roleplay activities has really helped to develop her confidence, social skills, language and sense of adventure. The staff are all amazing and highly skilled, and the owners are hands on, organising themed days and interactive sessions that also include the parents. As a result, she will be so sad to leave but so really for school! Our son is now having settling in sessions, preparing to start nursery in the next few weeks and we have no hesitation in sending him. We know he will have the same great experience.
The nursery is lovely and all the staff too. Very supportive when help is needed. Makes the children feel included and helps when they feel shy. Overall, very good nursery, my son loves it.
Excellent staff, friendly and always happy to help. Grace has been here for nearly 4 years, and I truly believe the nursery has helped her so much.
My two children have been coming to the nursery for many years and they have been amazing. Both of my children love coming here. My first has SEND needs and they have gone above and beyond to meet his needs and make sure he was happy and cared for. All the staff are supportive and caring and helpful at all times.
When my daughter came here from Africa, she then joined the nursery in February. We thought it was going to be hard for her but to our amazement and gratitude towards the nursery, the transition was so smooth. She made friends, and they took her in. The teachers were great and the support was just incredible. Hailey used to be a shy girl but with your love and patience you really helped her to gain her confidence. She absolutely loves the nursery and we are so happy about it.
After over a decade of using The Green Day Nursery we can truly say that they are an important part of our family life. They have taken care of all three of our children from babies right through to leaving primary school. Handing over my babies when starting back at work was never going to be easy, but the staff’s love and care made the process so much easier in those early, tentative days of parenthood. As our children have progressed through the ‘rooms’ from Baby, to Big Room and finally down to Bottom Nursery, they have been nurtured and guided through their development educationally but also as little people. All three now attend the wrap around care and really relish being able to spend time back in the place that played such an important part in their early years along with staff that know them inside out and back to front. When it comes to the practical side, staff have been so flexible and understanding around the difficulties of juggling three children and the sometimes varying and unpredictable hours of mine and my partner’s jobs. When my children have been ill, they have communicated effectively and reassured us they are in safe hands. Being able to send food in was great too as it meant that we knew they would be eating food they like. The outdoor space is particularly stimulating with its fruit trees, plants, equipment and even animals! I still love to say a quick hello to the chickens and guinea pigs on my way to collect my three monkeys from After School Club. There is always something going on at Green Day, whether it’s a visit from farm animals, a trip to the local park, Huw and Helen cooking up some Welsh Cawl on St David’s Day or a Christmas talent show for the older children. As a primary school teacher myself, I know that Green Day is one in a million; quirky, in a good way; caring and passionate staff; a truly child-centred approach.
